The History of dianabol:

The year was 1931, when German chemist Adolf Butenandt first developed the means to isolate and extract hormones which he did by extracting androstenone from urine. Shortly thereafter, fellow German chemist Leopold Ruzicka developed the means to synthesize such hormones and from their work, in 1935 the first batches of synthetic testosterone were made available.
